Hey guys,
The other day I was browsing the net and I came across a
wonderful recipe for the Deluxe Potatoes they sell over at Mcdonalds in France and Spain.
I'm telling you, these potatoes are SO DARN DELICIOUS, they taste like fried,
oven baked, spiced up, crispy in the outside, rather soft in the inside FULL OF FLAVOR potato wedges!
The best part is... their NOT fried!

They look like they are, they taste like they have a layer of fried and a layer of baked.
YOU HAVE 2 TRY THESE
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 2 pounds baking potatoes, scrubbed but not peeled
- 2/3 cup flour
- 2 ounces parmesan or other aged hard cheese, freshly and finely grated
- 2 teaspoons whole mustard seeds, crushed in a mortar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons celery salt (or celery seeds ground with sea salt)
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon ground chile pepper, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a rimmed cookie sheet or jelly roll pan with the melted butter, and slip it into the oven to preheat.
Combine the flour, cheese, and seasonings (from mustard seeds to black pepper) in a large freezer bag.
Cut the potatoes lengthwise in wedges, 4 or 6 wedges per potato depending on its girth. Try to make evenly sized wedges so they will all bake at the same speed. Do not rinse or pat the potatoes after cutting them; you want them to retain a film of starch on their cut sides.
Add the potatoes to the bag, close the bag tightly, and shake well to coat the potatoes on all sides. (There will be some flour mixture leftover; it will keep in the fridge for a couple of weeks.)
Place the potatoes, flesh side down, on the preheated cookie sheet. Bake for 30 minutes, flip, and bake for another 30 minutes, until cooked through and golden. Sprinkle with a little sea salt and serve.
Makes 6 side servings

1Yummy yum
2yum! not fried? cool!
3Does anyone know the recipe for the dipping sauce? All I know is that it is yogurt based.
4yeah, I would love to know that recipe.
5too bad I don't have it to share with u guys.
Oh, yum CS! Thanks for sharing the fries recipe. It may not be yogurt, but I love dipping potato wedges in sour cream (you can always get the light stuff if you're being health conscious).
6Absolutely purpleisafruit!
What I like to make as a healthy dip is getting some yogurt, rubbing in some herbs (thyme, oregano, etc.) adding a tiny bit of ketchup, a squeeze of lemon juice and some salt and pepper.
To make it even more tasty and similar to the mcdonalds dip add in a tiny bit of mascarpone cheese or cream cheese.
From there you can basically go nuts, making your own dip for a tasty snack with chips. Some options are adding in some mustard, mayo, chutney, curry, bbq sauce, balsamic vinegar, cheddar cheese, tabasco sauce, ANYTHING.
Dips are so fun to make, just add in anything you want!
...and don't forget about veggies and yogurt, just toss everything in a food processor and you got yourself a homemade healthy ranch!
